Thanksgiving is all about remembering our blessings, family, friendship, and giving thanks. It’s important to remind our little ones about the significance of this special day. One way to do that is by setting a table for the kiddos that showcases the real meaning of the holiday while being fun and interactive.

Make it kid-friendly. From the plates and cups to the table covering, everything should be kid-sized and kid-friendly. Make sure that cups have lids and straws to reduce the risk of any spill mishaps. Spread butcher paper on the table instead of a fancy tablecloth. That way even if there are spills, it’s ok! Just toss the paper at the end of the night. The bonus is the kids can draw right on their butcher paper “tablecloth” so give them lots of crayons!

Make it festive by providing each child with a little gift they can take home with them. We love these mugs that we had personalized with “I am thankful for________”. Give each child a marker so they can write in what they are grateful for this year. What a great keepsake the kids can use every day to remind them of their blessings! I included a little tag with instructions for each child. You can print that tag for FREE by clicking HERE.

Make it cute! Kids will love whimsical touches like these personalized barnyard buddy menu chalkboards that include fun little sayings like, “Gobble ‘Till You Wobble” or “Eat, Drink and Give Thanks”.

Make thankfulness the theme. You can do this with small touches throughout the tablescape. Personalized casserole dishes and throw pillows with meaningful sentiments are a sweet touch!

Make it interactive. As you can see from the tips above, the kids’ table should have activities that are fun and keep the kiddos entertained. Whether it’s providing kids crayons to draw and color or an interactive party favor (i.e. the “I am thankful for____” mug), make sure that they have something fun to do while they enjoy their turkey-day meal!
