Do you crave a sweet treat before bedtime, but don’t want to tempt yourself with a whole batch of cookies or an entire pan of brownies? We have a simple solution for you. Mug desserts! You can whip together one serving of your favorite cake, cookie or brownie in just a few minutes!

Not only can mug desserts save you from having a whole cake to eat, you can also save precious time and have way less mess to clean up. All of our favorite mug desserts only require one to two minutes in the microwave, and can be made with just your favorite mug and a spoon for mixing. Plus, they all have seven ingredients or less.

To make the recipes below, simply mix all of the ingredients together and microwave. If you don’t like your dessert gooey, microwave for another 30 seconds. Don’t fill your mug more than two-thirds of the way, otherwise it will bubble over. The toppings are optional.

Who doesn’t love a classic chocolate chip cookie? While making a whole batch means you have a tray of cookies to snack on, sometimes you just want one and you want it now. Georgia at The Comfort of Cooking inspired us with her one-minute cookie recipe.

Directions

  1. Microwave butter in a mug until melted. This should take between 30 seconds and one minute.
  2. Mix together the sugar, vanilla and salt in the mug.
  3. Stir in the egg yolk and flour. Then mix in the chocolate chips.
  4. Microwave until fully cooked. This should take between 40 and 50 seconds.
  5. Top with ice cream and chocolate chips.

Craving cake, but no birthday celebration in sight? Well lucky for you, Lexy at Style Me Pretty gave us the idea of making a traditional treat for those vanilla cake lovers. Think of this treat as the perfect palate to decorate to your heart’s content. Arrange sprinkles, fruit, and icing on top to create a masterpiece in a mug.

Directions

  1. Microwave butter in a mug until melted. This should take between 30 seconds and one minute.
  2. Mix in the egg, sugar, vanilla and milk. Then stir in the flour and salt.
  3. MIcrowave until fully cooked. This should take between 60 and 90 seconds.
  4. Top with chocolate frosting.

  1. Mix cake mix, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice and water in mug.
  2. Microwave until fully cooked. This should take about 60 seconds.
  3. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon.

This lemon mug desert will make you pucker with joy! Bright and cheery, it’s perfect for a summer evening when you just want something light. Becca at It’s Yummi recommends adding whipped cream, berries and fresh mint to really make the flavors pop.

Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, lemon zest, baking powder and salt.
  2. Stir in melted butter, egg and lemon juice.
  3. Pour into two mugs.
  4. Microwave one mug at a time for 1 minute and 20 seconds.
  5. Top with berries and cream.

This mug dessert has a special place in our heart for its simplicity. Only 4 ingredients, and you have yourself a nutty chocolate cake that will make your mouth water. The Comfort of Cooking sure knows her way around a mug dessert!

Directions

  1. Whisk choco hazelnut spread, flour, milk and baking soda in a mug.
  2. Microwave until fully cooked. This should take about 60 to 90 seconds.

Cheesecake normally takes hours, every dish in your pantry and a myriad of ingredients. Your Lighter Side helped cut that time down to about three minutes, and you only need your favorite mug and a spoon! We recommend letting the cheesecake chill in the fridge for as long as you can wait.

  3. Refrigerate until cold, then top with whipped cream and blueberries.

Directions  

  1. Microwave butter in a mug for about 10 seconds.
  2. Mix egg and milk into the mug.
  3. Mash a banana into the mug and mix.
  4. Mix in dry ingredients
  5. Microwave until thoroughly cooked. This should take about 60 seconds.
  6. Top with ice cream and crushed nuts.
