We love to entertain and host several parties during the holiday season. One of the keys to hosting is choosing a “smart” menu. Yes, the menu should be delicious and festive, but more importantly? It should allow you as the host to enjoy the party as well. That’s why I love making big-batch drinks for guests to serve themselves rather than making individual drinks. One of our favorites is this Cranberry & Apple Holiday Sangria that is bursting with the fall and winter flavors of crisp apples, tart cranberries, sparking apple cider and white wine. The presentation is stunning and it also tastes amazing.
We like to set out a decanter or pitcher of sangria, festive wine glasses and a big lazy susan or serving board filled with cheeses, nuts, meats, and crackers and guess what? Appetizers are ready. It’s the perfect way to start a party that everyone (host, included) will enjoy!
Cranberry & Apple Sangria
- 1 bottle white wine
- 1 bottle sparkling apple cider
- 2 Granny Smith apples, chopped
- 1 large orange, thinly sliced
- 1 cup cranberries
Directions:
Combine wine and fruit in a personalized decanter or pitcher. Put in the refrigerator overnight (the longer the better). Right before serving, add the cold sparkling cider and serve in festive glasses like these personalized wine glasses.
Eat, drink Sangria and be merry this holiday season!
