Give party guests a sweet sugar body scrub that will leave their skin soft and smelling delicious – perfect for baby or bridal showers, birthday parties, hostess gifts and more.
Once you have your materials together, the scrub takes no more than 5 minutes to make – so quick and easy. Don’t forget to make extra to pamper yourself! Be sure to set aside some time for decorating the jars or, better yet, grab some friends to help.
Materials
- Baby wash
- Baby oil
- Sugar
- Food coloring
- Jars
- Labels
- Ribbon and other decorative accents
Note: The materials listed here are great for a baby shower, but you could easily replace the baby oil and wash for other scents – try lavender, vanilla or coconut – depending on the theme of your party.
Directions
In a bowl, combine one quarter cup of baby wash, one quarter cup of baby oil and 2 ½ cups of sugar.
Next, add food coloring, depending on the party’s color scheme. Or keep it simple – skip the food coloring and decorate the jars in colors that complement the theme.
Helpful Tip: Add half drops and stir often to check the color before adding more (we used about two full drops of blue).
Now it’s time to decorate! To customize the sugar scrubs, we used different types of ribbon, decorative accents and our baby shower candy bar wrappers. We modified the wrappers to use as labels, affixing them with Mod Podge. You could also paint designs on the jars or use stickers, glitter or other crafting materials to fancy them up for your guests.
