This Mother’s Day how about giving that special mom in your life a cupcake bouquet? This is such a unique (and delicious) twist on the traditional gift and surprisingly easy to do yourself. I did mine in the Mosaic Mom Flower Pot, which is gorgeous and mom can keep long after the cupcakes are gone.
Today I am showing you how to make one!
What You’ll Need:
- Mosaic Mom Flower Pot
- Styrofoam ball (6inch diameter or sized to fit your flower pot)
- Green tissue paper
- Toothpicks
- Cupcakes
- Frosting
- Piping tip #1M (Wilton or other open star tip)
- Piping bag
Directions:
Start off by frosting your cupcakes. To get the look of a “rose”, pipe your frosting using a 1M Wilton tip. Starting in the center of the cupcake, gently squeeze the piping bag and pipe frosting in a clockwise spiral until you reach the outer edge. Once all cupcakes are frosted, place in the refrigerator to allow the icing to harden a bit.
Place the styrofoam ball in the flower pot. Attach cupcakes to the styrofoam ball using 2-3 toothpicks per cupcake. Fill with as many cupcakes as you can fit. It’s ok if there are spaces between cupcakes though! You will fill these in with the tissue paper “leaves”.
To make the “leaves”, cut the green tissue paper into small squares rectangles. Gather each square and tuck into the spaces between the cupcakes.
Enjoy! Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms!
