We love the holiday season for so many reasons – spending time with loved ones, festive music and décor, and tasty holiday treats, just to name a few. But we were particularly excited for the holidays to kick off this year because of a special visit to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, a wonderful facility located in our very own neck of the woods dedicated to the health and well-being of all children.
A team of Personal Creations employees spent a day at the hospital earlier this month to spread some holiday cheer to patients and their families. We brought personalized ornaments and holiday crafts for the kids and their families. The hospital set us up inside their beautiful Crown Sky Garden, a bright and cheery indoor area with walls of windows to let in natural sunlight and giant bamboo plants to create a garden-like setting.
Our talented hand-painting artists personalized ornaments with each child’s name, using the same technique found on many of the products sold on our site. We also set up an arts and crafts station with holiday coloring books, superhero masks for kids to create and wear, and more. Our employees loved coloring just as much as the kids!
We donated about 700 ornaments to the hospital in total which are being distributed to families throughout the holiday season. We also provided the hospital’s Partners with Parents program with gift certificates to help parents of patients provide a holiday celebration for their families this year.
The entire Personal Creations team was proud to partner with Lurie Children’s, and we couldn’t think of a better way to give back during the holidays than by doing something that supports a wonderful cause for children and our overall mission of giving back to the communities in which we live and operate. It reminded us all of the true meaning of the holidays!
